Once he is fully informed, can one profess Christianity while still supporting the Democrat Party -- and be morally consistent?
BLM – Black Lives Matter Position Statement
This is included because the Democrat Party and the BLM movement support each other in basic ideology and monetary contributions.2 Notice the similarities between the Democrat Party and the BLM in the majority of positions. We have highlighted the most prominent moral positions which conflict with the biblical standards.
This information is taken from the BLM website word-for-word.23
- Black Villages
We are committed to disrupting the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, and especially “our” children to the degree that mothers, parents and children are comfortable. [NOTE: This conflicts with Genesis 1 and 2 regarding God’s design not only for family but for civilization]
- Globalism
We see ourselves as part of the global Black family and we are aware of the different ways we are impacted or privileged as Black folk who exist in different parts of the world. [NOTE: This conflicts with Genesis 1:27 and Galatians 3:28, as well as with the Declaration of Independence statement that “All men are created equal”. This position also is in conflict with the biblical precept of national boundaries per nation]
- Queer Affirming
We are committed to fostering a queer‐affirming network. When we gather, we do so with the intention of freeing ourselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking or, rather, the belief that all in the world are heterosexual unless s/he or they disclose otherwise. (Conflicts with all scriptures that address marriage and sexual purity. See examples in the "Main Political Party Platforms" above)
- Trans Affirming
We are committed to embracing and making space for trans brothers and sisters to participate and lead. We are committed to being self-reflexive and doing the work required to dismantle cis-gender privilege and uplift Black trans folk, especially Black trans women who continue to be disproportionately impacted by trans-antagonistic violence. (Conflicts with all scriptures that address marriage and sexual purity. See examples in the "Main Political Party Platforms" above)
- Collective Value
We are guided by the fact all Black lives, regardless of actual or perceived sexual identity, gender identity, gender expression, economic status, ability, disability, religious beliefs or disbeliefs, immigration status or location. (See the above)
- Black Families
We are committed to making our spaces family-friendly and enable parents to fully participate with their children. We are committed to dismantling the patriarchal practice that requires mothers to work “double shifts” that require them to mother in private even as they participate in justice work. (Conflicts with the biblical design for marriage and family in Genesis 1-2)
- Unapologetically Black
We are unapologetically Black in our positioning. In affirming that Black Lives Matter, we need not qualify our position. To love and desire freedom and justice for ourselves is a necessary prerequisite for wanting the same for others. (Conflicts with Genesis 1:27 and Galatians 3:28, as well as with the Declaration of Independence statement that “All men are created equal”)
- Black Women
We are committed to building a Black women affirming space free from sexism, misogyny, and male‐centeredness.(Conflicts with the biblical design for marriage and family in Genesis 1-2)
The Bible promotes equality in the eyes of God for all ethnic groups, as do the principles of the Constitution. Everything stated in the BLM platform is promoting racism, i.e., some races and groups are better than others, which only leads to divisions. This position stands in direct opposition to God’s most fundamental laws. Christianity and the BLM movement are fundamentally opposed to one another. To deny that there is only one race in the eyes of God is to deny the Christian God and the Bible.
The Bible - and Christianity - would not deny that racism exists and that it is always wrong.
The question is, "what is the REAL CAUSE of the terrible positions many black people find themselves in, and what can Christians do to truly help lift our brothers and sisters out of these conditions if we can meet in the middle?"
Christianity calls for unity among all humanity who are created in God's image. But perfect unity first requires that we all humble ourselves under God, recognizing we all are sinners and fall short of His glory and perfection. Unification can occur under One Perfect Man who never sinned: Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
We will present several solutions in upcoming blogs.
