How Should We Respond to the Florida Massacre?

"We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion."

– President John Adams

"Man will ultimately be governed by God or by tyrants."

                                                          - Benjamin Franklin

The most often question we are all asking– and for good reason – is “What can we do to prevent or diminish this evil?”

The loudest, most publicized answer from the media is “Gun Control!!” And to many people – even Christians – that seems to be the only answer. However, there is another side to the story which receives very little attention from the mainstream media. And this “other side” presents the most obvious, most logical, and the most reality-based answer available.

But before we go there, let’s first look at the realities of the gun debate.

FACT: The reason America has a 2nd Amendment is because the history of mankind shows that those with the most power will ALWAYS rule over those with less or no power, and they will do so by force. Therefore, if the common people can be armed to protect themselves, then those who hope to conquer or control them will be far more hesitant to try.

FACT: When using guns in self-defense, 91.1% of the time, not a single shot is fired.

FACT: When a woman was armed with a gun or knife, only 3% of rape attacks were completed, compared to 32% when the woman was unarmed.

FACT: When firearms were prohibited in England and Wales, rapes skyrocketed.

FACT: Of the 2,500,000 times citizens use guns to defend themselves, 92% merely brandish their gun or fire a warning shot to scare off their attackers

And if you still have doubts, read this article titled:

“I used to think gun control was the answer. My research told me otherwise.”

Now let’s return to the original question:

How do you prevent (or greatly diminish) Evil in a nation?

The answer: Teach from the earliest of ages Virtue, Righteousness and the Fear of God.

How? Bring back the 10 Commandments. Hang them in our homes, our courthouses, our schoolrooms, and our offices.

But wait!

Isn’t that the way it used to be in America?

Yes. And the facts prove that it works. But the facts also prove that when we forsake God,

all Hell breaks loose!

FACT: Prior to 1963, America had always been among the lowest in crime rates in the world. Now we have among the highest. Why? In 1962 the Supreme Court removed prayer from schools, and in 1980 they removed the 10 Commandments.

Their reasoning: “If the posted copies of the Ten Commandments are to have any effect at all, it will be to induce the schoolchildren to read, meditate upon, perhaps to venerate and obey, the Commandments. … (this) is not a permissible state objective under the Establishment Clause."

Now we have among the highest crime rates in the world!

When we remove the fear of punishment by an all-knowing God from the heart of man, and the schools instill virtual atheism into childrens’ impressionable minds, should we be surprised when we see evil multiply?

Maybe we shouldn’t have removed the 10 Commandments from American life?

“Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.”

― Benjamin Franklin
